Skape is a browser-based operating system. Choose devices around the jobs your team performs, not around a requirement to buy every possible screen.

The essentials
- A current browser on a phone, tablet or computer for authorized staff.
- Reliable internet at the desk and anywhere a live room display or phone companion will be used.
- A safe way to power devices through the shift. Check charging and connectivity before guests enter.
- Your venue’s physical rooms, supervision, emergency procedures and any independent prop or lock systems.
A staff phone can handle simple setup and day-to-day checks. A desk computer or tablet gives you more room for the schedule, guest list and payment handover. Keep the staff workspace out of guests’ reach.
Optional devices by job
Payment terminal: choose one supported by your connected processor and the terminal workflow in Settings. A browser alone does not turn every phone into a card reader. Confirm compatibility before buying hardware.
Room screen: an in-room display can show the timer, checkpoints, clues and outcome. A touch-capable tablet is useful when players need to request help on that screen. Open the public rehearsal on the actual device before mounting it.
Kiosk: a separate guest-facing device can serve its configured kiosk destination. Do not leave an unlocked staff dashboard on it. IOX Kiosk or Companion may help with dedicated-device use; installation and device support are a separate setup step.
Lobby or leaderboard display: useful for public information, but neither is required to accept a booking. Pick the intended display destination and check that no private staff controls are visible.
Player phones: phone companions are optional. The live room screen shares an invitation QR; guests receive private agent screens. A paired demo inside one browser is different from joining a live game.
Test the whole room
Check readability from the players’ positions, volume, charging, Wi-Fi and the screen’s sleep behavior. Sound requires an explicit tap on each device. Reduced-motion preferences can replace video backgrounds with still images. Keep an ordinary operational fallback if the display loses connection.
Important: IOX can set software destinations and settings remotely. Your venue handles mounting, cables, electrical work, networking equipment and physical installation. A screen demo is not a safety controller for your room.
