Skape’s player screen brings the timer, room atmosphere, checkpoints, clues and outcome together. Configure it for your actual room and rehearse it before a guest sees it.
Find the setup and rehearsal
Open Rooms → your room → Room screen & clues. Test game screen rehearses your current unsaved edits, so you can inspect a change before saving it. Displays → Game Screens provides the room overview, setup links and rehearsal links; a live-session link is available when there is a current session.
- 1The remaining game time is the main player readout.
- 2Open the local Game master controls to rehearse the staff side.
- 3Players can request a clue or technical help.
- 4Explore the next checkpoint without resetting the timer.
Set the waiting, active, paused, success and failure presentation, then review checkpoints and their cues. Use concise clue text that remains readable at the players’ viewing distance. A visual checkpoint does not automatically connect a physical sensor or lock.
Use the actual public demo
Open Try a room screen. Choose one of six themes and begin a five-minute local game. Request a clue or technical help to see sample replies, inspect Clues history, and open Game master to try pause/resume, time changes, checkpoints, alarm and endings. Reloading resets the local demo.
The cipher-lock mini-puzzle and its time penalties demonstrate the rehearsal’s interactions. They do not create bookings or operate a live room. Demo photos are sample content; the rehearsal does not open a camera or upload a guest photo.
Sound, backgrounds and motion
Tap Enable music and sound or Enable sound on each device. Browsers normally require a user gesture before audio can play. Music and full mute are separate controls. Audio stops when the relevant game state or hidden-page behavior requires it.
The authored room packs include still images and silent background movies. Image only turns off backdrop motion; reduced-motion preferences use still imagery. Custom video may rely on its poster while loading. Check legibility and performance on the installed device, not just your laptop.
Prepare the physical display
Power the device, join the venue network, choose the correct destination and test sleep/fullscreen behavior. IOX Kiosk or Companion can be part of a dedicated-device setup. Do not save a private live-session secret URL as a permanent device destination.
Your team installs screens and cables onsite. IOX can remotely configure the room’s software, cues and destinations. Use phone companions if players will join from their own devices.
