You can begin with a phone, a browser and reliable internet. A laptop makes writing long room descriptions and comparing schedules easier, but an in-room tablet, card terminal and kiosk are separate choices. Start with one location and one room you can confidently operate.
Follow the setup in order
- Sign in through the Skape sign-in screen. Use your own staff identity; a customer account by itself does not grant dashboard access.
- Complete Welcome and Location with the venue’s actual address and timezone. These affect directions and the meaning of a booking time.
- Add the room: name, duration, player limits and the information guests need to choose it. Set the price before making availability public.
- Finish the required Pricing step. The onboarding flow also offers Schedule, Taxes, Branding, Payment, Hardware and Invite Team steps. A skippable onboarding step is something you can return to, not evidence that the associated live workflow is ready.
- Connect the payment method you intend to accept and check the schedule for a real operating day. Review the launch checklist in your dashboard before going live.
- 1Verify the active venue before starting work.
- 2The go-live checklist shows what still needs attention.
Check the guest view
Open your booking page on the same size phone your guests will use. Confirm the location, room description, capacity, date, local time and full price. Follow the journey up to payment without creating an unwanted paid booking. Arrange any complete test booking with your team so its payment, messages and cleanup are intentional.
Check arrival instructions and the waiver path. A guest should know where to arrive, how early to come and whom to contact. Previewing an email is a safer way to inspect wording than repeatedly sending it to a customer.
Decide what can wait
Start with booking, payment, check-in and a reliable game-master process. Add a kiosk, lobby screen, player phone companions or marketing campaign when staff know what each changes. The hardware guide separates required and optional equipment; the feature guide explains the switches.
Check first: a phone running the dashboard does not install or operate physical room locks, wiring, cameras or props. Your venue still needs its normal safety, supervision and reset procedures.
Ready to launch
You are ready when a colleague can find the correct slot, understand the total, locate the arrival record and explain who starts the game. If any of those handovers is unclear, resolve it before advertising availability. IOX can configure the software remotely from the request at the end of this guide.
Want us to set this up for you?
If you’re a Skape client, just tell us what you need configured. Call, email, or send a request here, and we’ll set it up for you.
That includes things like hours, prices, booking options, emails, party packages, and feature settings.
We handle system configuration remotely. Your team handles physical onsite work, such as mounting screens, running cables, and installing equipment.
