A room is both something a guest buys and something your staff must reset and run. Its public description, capacity, duration, pricing and availability need to agree.
Add the room
- Open Rooms in the dashboard and choose the add-room action.
- Give it a clear name and description. Explain the theme, suitable group size and any venue-specific requirements without revealing solutions.
- Set the game duration and minimum and maximum player counts. A group larger than the room’s limit needs a separate plan; changing the booking label does not expand physical capacity.
- Add an appropriate room image and useful guest instructions. Use images you are entitled to publish.
- Review the price and any available pricing options before publishing slots.
- 1Room details and Room screen & clues are separate setup areas.
- 2Write the public description in Basic Information.
- 3Confirm the room’s physical location and active status.
Make the price understandable
Check whether the configured price is per player or uses another available pricing option. Compare a small and large group in the guest checkout. If you enable group discounts, promotions, packages or deposits, check the combination you expect guests to buy; the basic room price alone may not describe the final total.
State what is included. Separate game duration from the total visit time needed for arrival, briefing and departure. A discounted example in the Help email gallery is fictional and does not create a promotion in your account.
Leave room to reset
Review the room’s scheduling and buffer settings. The next group should not be scheduled on the assumption that the previous team disappears when the timer reaches zero. Include the time your staff needs to clear props, restore puzzles and complete the handover.
Changing a room’s settings is not a substitute for reviewing existing bookings. After an edit, inspect future availability and any bookings affected by the old duration or capacity. Ask IOX for help before making a substantial change to a room that is already heavily booked.
Configure the player experience separately
The room’s Room screen & clues section controls the display experience. Use Test game screen to rehearse unsaved settings before saving them. Preparing a visual checkpoint does not wire a physical sensor or lock.
Finish with the schedule guide. If the room exists but guests see no times, look at availability and booking conditions before creating a duplicate room.
